Kasamatsu Park, on the north side of Amanohashidate, is easily reached by cable car or chairlift to the summit observatory, where you can overlook the full panorama of Amanohashidate—one of Japan’s Three Scenic Views. From above, the pine-lined sandbar resembles a soaring dragon, giving rise to the famous “Shoryu-kan” view.

Ine Funaya, hailed as the “Venice of Kyoto,” is one of the most iconic seaside fishing village attractions in northern Kyoto. About 230 traditional boathouses line Ine Bay: the ground floor is for mooring boats and storing fishing gear, while the upper floor serves as living space—an exceptionally distinctive, well-preserved traditional architectural landscape in Japan.

Take an Ine Bay cruise and tour Ine Bay together with the seagulls. During the cruise, you can also enjoy feeding the seagulls.

Miyama Kayabuki no Sato is one of Japan’s best-preserved traditional thatched-roof villages. The village still features rustic kayabuki houses and tranquil rural scenery. Strolling through it feels like stepping into Japan’s countryside of old, with a different charm in every season.
